How It Started
Hindi Mehfil wasn't born in a boardroom. It began the way most good things do — over dinner tables, cups of chai, and poems scribbled late at night and shared with whoever would listen.
What started as a personal love for writing Hindi poetry — a few verses posted quietly to Instagram, a few read aloud to patient friends and family — is now taking a small step forward, and opening its doors to the wider community.
A Mehfil (महफ़िल) is simply an intimate gathering — a circle of people brought together by poetry, music, and the warmth of shared company. That's all we're really trying to build here, in the heart of Cambridge.

Hindi has always been a language of many poetic hearts. Here, we make room for all of it.
The Hindi poem in all its forms — classical to contemporary, tender to fierce. Kavita doesn't rush. It lingers. It breathes. It says the things we struggle to say out loud.
The couplet that lands like a quiet truth. Two lines that can say what a whole conversation cannot — and the beautiful hush that falls over a room when a sher lands just right.
From classical Ragas to a well-loved Hindi melody hummed by everyone in the room. Music here isn't background — it's the other voice in the conversation.
